The victories in the Australian racing circuit have produced F1 celebrities like Michael Schumacher and the Ferrari team. Other Big names that have started in the Melbourne racing circuit include David Coulthard, Rubens Barrichello and Giancarlo Fisichella.

In 1996, Jordan’s Martin Brundle was launched into the air due to an enormous accident. The footage on the crash have stirred the interests of the international press, as well as the attention of racing enthusiasts.

More recently the race has been given some negative local press due to the costs associated with the event. Due to time differences Melbourne will have to move to a twilight race in order to get the advertising revenue from the big European advertisers. Despite all that, the Australia Grand Prix lives out the racing tradition of Formula One, pure racing and passion between man, speed and the machine.

People of all ages will surely find something to enjoy with the festive atmosphere created by live entertainment performances and concerts at the park.

Amidst the picturesque view of the Melbourne skyline, the race and the on-site entertainment will make sure you have a good time, even if you are not that much of a racing enthusiast.

It’s simply one of those events that for die-hard Melburnians is a must: In the off-season when there is no footy you go to the horses, to the tennis and to the Formula 1 instead. It’s a given.
