So, who are Melbourne Victory?

The goalkeepers are Tommi Tomich (who is on loan from South Melbourne), Michael Theoklitos and Mitchell Langerak. These three are responsible for making sure that nothing gets past them and into the goals.

The midfielders are the Captain Kevin Muscat, the Junior Marquee Nick Ward, Carlos Hernandez (who is on loan from LD Alajuelense), Grant Brebner, Evan Berger, Jose Luis Lopez Ramirez, Billy Celeski and Leigh Broxham.

The teams strikers are Nathan Elasi (youth team), Danny Allsopp, Archie Thompson and Ney Fabiano de Oliveira.

And then last, but definitely not least, are the talented defenders; Daniel Vasilevski, Michael Thwaite (who is on loan from SK Brann), Rodrigo Vargas, Steve Pantelidis, Steven Pace, Sebastian Ryall and Matthew Kemp.

Melbourne Victory and the A-League

Melbourne Victory is known to be the most successful club in the A-League. They have won four main titles! They are also the only ones to have completed the Premiership-Championship double, and this they have done not once but twice, as they won during 2006-07 as well as the 2008-09 season. Melbourne Victory is also the only team to finish the domestic treble where they won the Challenge Cup, Championship, as well as the Premiership, which was all done in the 2008-09 seasons.

Melbourne Victory History

The team came to life in 2003 when the refurbished League in Australia was announced. This was where the National Soccer League was separated and later replaced by the popular A-League. The FFA (Football Federation Australia) approved the team and they were allowed to play and be a part of the world of soccer.

The team is great and there are many reasons for that. Not only do they play phenomenally, but they have wonderful spirits and all of their games are good ones, clean, fun, serious and positive. They are also considered to be a broad-based team that appeals to all nationalities, which is another reason why we think they are the best. The colors of the team, white and navy blue, are the Victorians state traditional colors.

Australian soccer has come a long way.

Quality has improved although it is not up to the standard of the European leagues yet.

Nowadays an Australian soccer game is definitely worth a visit.
